AGCxml Review and Validation Committee

Current Review and Validation Committee Roster (select "Documents" from menu at left)

The Review and Validation Committee (RVC) is among the most important groups in the development of AGCxml. The RVC ensures that the use cases developed by the technical team accurately represent actual business processes in the real world, and that the schemas developed from those use cases are sufficiently comprehensive and complete to support business processes in the field.

Membership on the RVC is by invitation only, but is open to all applicants. RVC members are volunteer professionals who participate at their own time and expense. We seek members throughout the building facility design, construction, and management industry and professionals in all disciplines nationwide—architects, building owners, contractors, engineers, material suppliers, software developers, and subcontractors nationwide. The RVC membership will also reflect the industry not just by discipline but also by functional job description—owners of companies, project managers, job captains, construction site supervisors, clerks-of-the-works, and bookkeepers—anyone and everyone who currently uses construction contract documents and related paper forms to do their jobs every day.

The RVC will be empanelled by late 2006, but individuals interested in participating may join at any time during the project period. The bulk of the work of the RVC will take place between December 2006 and May 2007. The work of the RVC will be conducted primarily by electronic means: e-mail, WebEx, and teleconference. One or two optional in-person meetings may be scheduled, with opportunities for RVC members unable to attend to participate via teleconference and WebEx.

An e-mail listserv facilitates communication among RVC members. Documents for the RVC's review and validation are posted on the Documents for Review page of this Web site. RVC members will be notified each time a deliverable is posted for review, and advised of the amount of time available for review of each deliverable, which will typically be 14-21 days. Review comments will then be compiled by the technical team for review and consensus agreement by the entire RVC. Conference call discussions will be scheduled to discuss and debate issues that cannot be resolved by e-mail discussion alone.

If you are interested in serving on the RVC, please contact NIBS AGCxml Project Manager Michael Tardif.
